When the home od Zinfandel was traced to Croatia after discovering ancient vines in nearby Kaštela, the area’s wine industry took off. On your wine tour, you will get a chance to taste several indegenious grape varieties from various new-age and traditional wineries between cultural exploration of the seven-castle coastal town.
Your tour starts in the 15 centural coastal gem of Kaštel Sućurac in the town museum before sipping on Crljenak Kaštelanski (a.k.a. Zinfandel) and Pošip in the 19th century Matela wine cellar.
Continue to Kaštel Kambelovac to visit Bedalov Winery founded in 1806. Try their signature Crljenak Kaštelanski and cuvee of grape relatives Crljenak Kaštelanski, Dobričić and Plavac Mali.
